Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators

Botox and Dysport belong to a class of injections called Neuromodulators. They are FDA-approved agents used to relax muscular response. They block the nerve signals to the muscles that cause the contraction, which produces undesired features. This decreases the contracting muscle response, significantly reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. As your muscles relax, your skin becomes smoother. It’s important to note that the effects are only temporary. These methods are used to prevent the formation or deepening of wrinkles, which are caused by repetitive movement over time.

The Treatment

Botox vs. Dysport

Botox and Dysport contain the same Botulinum toxin ingredient, which is excellent at relaxing muscles. They target fine lines and wrinkles in the same manner while producing impressive results. For example, Dysport injectable results will become noticeable quicker and particularly treat the lines between your brows, called the “11’s”. During your consultation, we’ll determine which option best suits you. We recommend treatments every three months for optimal results.

As you perform repeated muscle contractions from facial expressions such as frowning, smiling, or squinting, it forms facial lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators treat fine lines and wrinkles on the inner layers of the skin beneath the surface by blocking nerve signals and muscle contractions. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. A few injections will give you a smooth appearance.
